Next February 13th is another fun Mooresville Middle spirit day! The theme is... Valentine's Day colors


Even though Valentine's Day is on a Saturday this year, we encourage all Red Imps to wear pink, white, and red to celebrate the #All Heart holiday.

8th grade parents - CDP info (Rescheduled: 2/16)

** Due to inclement weather, the Career Development Plan process at MMS is rescheduled for Monday, February 16th ** 8th grade students at Mooresville Middle School will complete their initial work on the Career Development Plan during Elective classes / Imp Time that day. 


Beginning with the 2024-2025 school year, the NC General Assembly requires all current 8th-grade students to complete a Career Development Plan (CDP) for promotion into the 9th grade. The CDP will be a valuable tool to help students explore their interests, aptitudes, and potential career pathways.

Important: Annual Student Technology Fee Reminder for Students in grades 5 - 12

Hello MGSD families,

This is a friendly reminder for families of students in grades 5 – 12 regarding the annual $20 student technology fee. This fee covers the use and maintenance of your student's laptop each year.

How to Pay:

  • Online: Payments can be made quickly and securely through OSP (Online School Payments) at this link: https://osp.osmsinc.com/mgsd/.

  • In-Person: Students may bring cash or a check directly to their school’s Help Desk.

Not sure if you’ve paid? If you are unsure of your payment status for the current school year, please reach out to your school’s Help Desk for verification.



Walking Home permission form for MMS '25-26

Do you plan for your Red Imp student to walk to / from school? If so, MMS requires ALL students walking to / from campus to have a signed Walking form completed with main office. Click above to print & return OR stop by the main office to complete. Thank you for helping keep our students safe! 




Winter sports are winding down... don't miss the action!

All are welcome to c'mon out to support the JV Basketball teams for MMS as the season winds down! The cost is $6 to attend any regular season game (+$1 online service charge), or you can also purchase tickets in advance by using this link. 4:30pm is the regular start time for the first game. Here are the matchups scheduled for our Red Imps next week:


Monday, Feb. 9 JV Basketball (girls, then boys) AT Selma Burke Middle


Tuesday, Feb. 10 JV Basketball (girls, then boys) home vs. North Davie Middle

**Note: Physical Forms are DIGITAL ONLY in 2026

Parents of spring athletes: as of January 1st, Mooresville Middle School will no longer accept paper copies of student Physical Forms.

Instead, a scanned / digital copy must be uploaded directly to Final Forms to ensure your child is medically cleared to participate in middle school sports. Thank you for help with this new procedure!



How to alert MMS of student absence:

The email address for parents to alert MMS about student absences is:

MMSAttendance@MGSD.k12.nc.us

Parents can upload doctor's notes as well. This process helps to avoid lost excuse notes!


form to request an Educational Opportunity excused absence

Note: Students may have up to a maximum of 3 days per school year excused to take advantage of valid educational opportunities. Prior approval from either the Principal is required. Absences that are classified as a valid educational opportunity will be coded as “excused” whereas others will be coded as “unexcused.” 

To make a request for prior approval, submit the above form to the Principal two weeks before the absence(s)The student is responsible for completing all missed work in addition to submitting a Student Educational Assignment as approved by the Principal in order to have the

absence coded as “excused.” All projects are due within 5 days of the student’s return to school.

Let's hope we're done with winter weather! It was fun while it lasted...

Normalcy at MMS resumes next week, when students take NC Check In tests for ELA + Math (Wed / Thur), we celebrate our awesome MGSD bus drivers (Love the Bus week!), and host a student dance next Friday evening. Fun times ahead!
