Band

Our band program invites students to explore instrumental music through an exciting and collaborative learning experience. In this course, students will develop fundamental skills in playing wind, brass, or percussion instruments, focusing on tone production, rhythm, and note reading. During students' 6th grade year, they will explore different instruments before committing to one for their 7th grade year. Throughout band students' 7th and 8th grade years, they will participate in rehearsals that build ensemble skills, listening, and cooperation, with the goal of achieving a cohesive group sound. Emphasis is placed on musical expression, teamwork, and performance etiquette, with several opportunities to perform for school and community audiences. Band is offered for the entire school year. The band has two concerts: December 10th and May 6th
