** New: Mooresville Middle will have 10 spots available for students to participate in our Benchwarmers experience pregame, where they will get to sit on the Hornets Bench, have photos taken, and watch a short period of warmups before heading to their seats for the game! 


Children must be Age 6 or up to be eligible. Participants will be randomly selected prior to date of game. If your child is selected, notification & instructions on participation and requirements will be communicated closer to date of event.

MMS spirit day - Friday, Jan. 23

Next Friday is another fun school spirit day for our students & staff at MMS! Next Friday's theme is... First Letter Day! 


Red Imps are encouraged to dress as something that starts with the first letter of your name. Will it be King Kosal, Kangaroo Kosal, Khaki Kosal?... the possibilities are endless! Let's have some dress-up fun next week, Red Imps!

8th grade parents - Career Development Plan info (Mon. 01/26/26)

8th grade students at Mooresville Middle School will complete their initial work on the Career Development Plan on Monday, January 26th, during Elective classes / Imp Time.


Beginning with the 2024-2025 school year, the NC General Assembly requires all current 8th-grade students to complete a Career Development Plan (CDP) for promotion into the 9th grade. The CDP will be a valuable tool to help students explore their interests, aptitudes, and potential career pathways.

8th grade parents... interested in an Early College for next year??

Walking Home permission form for MMS '25-26

Do you plan for your Red Imp student to walk to / from school? If so, MMS requires ALL students walking to / from campus to have a signed Walking form completed with main office. Click above to print & return OR stop by the main office to complete. Thank you for helping keep our students safe! 



JV basketball season is now underway!

All are welcome to attend the sporting events for JV Basketball teams at MMS -- the Winter season continues! The cost is $6 to attend any regular season game (+$1 online service charge), or you can also purchase tickets in advance by using this link. 4:30pm is the regular start time for the first game. Here are the home sports events scheduled for our Red Imp athletes next week:

**Note: Physical Forms are DIGITAL ONLY in 2026

Parents of spring athletes: as of January 1st, Mooresville Middle School will no longer accept paper copies of student Physical Forms.


Instead, a scanned / digital copy must be uploaded directly to Final Forms to ensure your child is medically cleared to participate in middle school sports. Thank you for help with this new procedure!



How to alert MMS of student absence:

The email address for parents to alert MMS about student absences is:

Parents can upload doctor's notes as well. This process helps to avoid lost excuse notes!


form to request an Educational Opportunity excused absence

Note: Students may have up to a maximum of 3 days per school year excused to take advantage of valid educational opportunities. Prior approval from either the Principal is required. Absences that are classified as a valid educational opportunity will be coded as “excused” whereas others will be coded as “unexcused.” 


To make a request for prior approval, submit the above form to the Principal two weeks before the absence(s)The student is responsible for completing all missed work in addition to submitting a Student Educational Assignment as approved by the Principal in order to have the

absence coded as “excused.” All projects are due within 5 days of the student’s return to school.
