Building Authentic Relationships: The Foundation of MGSD

Posted Date: 11/24/25 (5:00 PM)

Hello MGSD community,

As the Superintendent, I want to take a moment to reaffirm the core value that anchors all the work of the Mooresville Graded School District (MGSD): Authentic Relationships. This particular value is a foundational, active commitment that shapes our daily interactions and expectations across the district.

Authentic relationships mean that every MGSD school must be a truly welcoming and inclusive place for all of our students, families, and community members. We understand that a strong educational environment is built on mutual respect and open communication, ensuring every voice is valued, heard, and respected.

We demonstrate our commitment to this core value not just through words, but through dedicated actions and accountability. This includes hosting regular community events like our Picnic in the Park and Hispanic Heritage celebration.  It includes parent and community surveys to gather essential feedback and share our progress. It means our teachers and administrators prioritize direct engagement, utilizing parent phone calls and check-ins to build strong, collaborative partnerships around student success. Furthermore, we actively cultivate strong partnerships with local organizations to enrich every student’s academic and personal experience.

By prioritizing authentic relationships, MGSD is fostering a supportive environment where every individual feels empowered and contributes to the success of creating a better community. I invite you, our stakeholders, to continue engaging with us as we work together to continuously improve, making our vision a reality for every student and family in our Mooresville community.

Sincerely,

Jason Gardner, Ed.D.
MGSD Superintendent
