🍂 October in the Cafeteria

October is here, and that means cooler days, fall flavors, and plenty of excitement in our cafeterias! This month, our Nutrition Team is focused on fueling students with balanced meals that keep them energized for learning, play, and all the fun activities happening at school. From fresh fruits and veggies to warm, comforting favorites, we’re proud to serve meals that not only taste good but also help students grow strong and healthy.
When our students are well-fed, they’re ready to take on everything October brings — from spirit week to fall festivals and everything in between!

đŸ„„ New Bites & School Spirit

We’ve got some exciting updates for October!
  • New Foods Arriving: Students will get to try brown rice, Asian pears, sweet potatoes, and crisp apples on the menu this month.
  • Coming Soon: Keep an eye out — peach cobbler is making its return!
  • Menu Update: Due to a recent product recall, corndogs and pancake & sausage on a stick will be temporarily removed from the menu for October. Student safety is always our top priority, and we’ll bring these items back once we receive a safe replacement.
  • Tuesday, October 21st: It’s Pajama Day AND we’re serving Breakfast for Lunch — the perfect way to get comfy and cozy with us.
  • National School Lunch Week: This falls during our fall break, but don’t worry — we’ll be celebrating the following week with our first-ever Spirit Week, October 20–24.

🌟 Did You Know?

🍎 October is National Apple Month! There are more than 7,500 types of apples grown around the world — and the U.S. grows about 2,500 of them.
đŸ„” Sweet potatoes are rich in vitamin A, which helps keep your eyes healthy and your immune system strong.
🍚 Brown rice is a whole grain, meaning it has more fiber and nutrients than white rice, giving students longer-lasting energy for the school day.
🍐 Asian pears are often called “apple pears” because they’re crisp like an apple but juicy like a pear!
