* No school on Monday, 9/22 (teacher work day) *

A Message from Mr. Kosal:

MMS is All Heart! Greetings, Red Imp families! This is Mr. Patrick Kosal, your proud MMS principal. Next Tuesday (9/23), our MMS Red Imp football team travels to cross-town rivals Selma Burke Middle to take on the Bears. This is always a fun event for the Mooresville community to cheer on their side of town, but also remembering that all players will be Blue Devils in just a couple of years... We Are Mooresville!

Buy your tickets online (use this link) or pay at the gate; the cost is $6 per ticket. Game time starts at 4:30pm and we want our whole fan section to wear RED! There are also home sports events at MMS that night vs. Selma Burke for both softball & tennis -- those Red Imp teams could use some support, too! Thank you, Red Imp community, for supporting MMS athletics.

Here's what you'll find in this week's newsletter:

  • School Picture days - next Tue & Wed
  • Fall Festival on 9/26 -- PTSO needs Vendors + Raffle Baskets

Last Chance: CDM

The Fall window for Credit by Demonstrated Mastery application is now open. This CDM newsletter below will go out via ParentSquare to all 7th-11th grade families and counselors on Sept. 2. Applications are due to counselors by Friday, Sept. 19.

CDM allows students to “test out” of certain courses where they have already mastered the content. There are two phases:

  • In Phase 1 students take an EOC Exam / final exam equivalent for the course. Students who earn the required score advance to Phase 2.
  • In Phase 2, students complete a project to apply the skills and knowledge from the course.
  • Students who successfully complete both phases will receive “Pass” credit for the course on their transcript. "Pass" credits do not affect a student's GPA, but do count toward required graduation credits.

Fri. 9/26 = spirit day!

Next Friday, September 26th, is another MMS Spirit Day for our school! The theme is.... Subject Area Day -- students should wear clothes that show their fave subject

Of course, all outfits must remain within the MMS dress code (handbook). We hope to see a lot of school spirit and fun next Friday!

Click Here to print another Chocolate Order Form

This past week began our MMS fall Chocolate fundraiser! Students received a flier of information about this fundraiser (link above to print another). Them selling delicious chocolate to friends & family could help them win some awesome incentives and fantastic prizes! For example:
    • Grade Level Top Seller: The top seller in each grade level will win a pair of wireless Beats headphones!

    • Sell 3 Boxes, Get a Gift Card: Any student who sells three full boxes will earn a gift card!

Teachers will send students who have a signed permission slip to the back of the media center (testing room) each day before school starts to claim their chocolate they’re committing to sell.

** Why does MMS do this fundraiser, you might ask?? These funds go towards funding Student & Staff Celebrations over the course of the year (ex: student holiday presents, rewards for A/B Honor Roll, staff mementos for teachers of the month, etc). This school fundraiser runs until October 8th.

Thank you, Red Imp families, for your support!
