The Mooresville Graded School District understands that many within our MGSD community want to help the people who are facing extreme hardship in Western NC. That is one of the many attributes that makes our community amazing! With that being said, there are organizations that have the working knowledge of what exactly is needed for the people and communities in Western NC. For many reasons, it is important that we listen to these organizations and assist in a way that is helpful to them and the communities in need. MGSD is directing people to the following two local efforts/organizations:
Hurricane Helene Airlift Relief and for hygiene products specifically,
The Kindness Closet. Their sites can give you updated information on what specifically is needed. Of course, you can also find information at
United Way of North Carolina and
American Red Cross.
As you know, this Sunday, October 6, we will be hosting our Mooresville Longest Table event. How appropriate that this year the theme is "The Power of We." In this spirit, we will be collecting the following needed items for Western NC at the Longest Table event this Sunday:
Baby Wipes
Diapers
Toothpaste
Soap
Clorox/Disinfectant Wipes
In addition, we will still be collecting canned goods for our Mooresville Christian Mission and FeedNC to ensure we are also taking care of those facing hardships within our own Mooresville community.
Please note, if you cannot assist with a donation, you can still attend this community event!
If you have not signed up for Sunday's FREE Longest Table event, please do so below. There is always room at the Table!
